Our senior leadership team
Peter joined Vivacity in July 2018 bringing extensive senior management and leadership experience at both strategic and operational delivery level within the cultural and leisure sector. Peter has worked in numerous public, private and third sector organisations, providing executive management support including for City of Culture projects in Londonderry 2013 and Hull 2017.
Jon has spent his working life in Peterborough within the culture and leisure sector. During his time he has amassed extensive experience in managing public services as varied as sports facilities, parks and open spaces, landscape management, libraries, arts, tourism and heritage services. Jon also has extensive experience of planning and delivering major capital projects.
Nick brings a broad range of marketing, commercial and leadership skills to Vivacity having recently undertaken marketing consultancy roles within the charity and marketing technology sectors. Previous to this Nick ran a catering business in Cambridge for a number of years and has also worked as Marketing Director within financial services and sports following a lengthy spell playing rugby in France.
Rowland has held senior commercial operations roles within the leisure and sports sectors, including Vibrant Partnerships (a trading name for Lee Valley Leisure Trust) and the Lee Valley Olympic White Water Centre. Rowland’s expertise is in service growth and commercial partnership development.
Stewart is an award winning broadcaster and Managing Director of Mid Anglia Radio Group PLC. Stewart launched three radio stations in the Peterborough area and was responsible for raising over a million pounds for local disability charities. Previously, Stewart was Chair of the regional Strategic Health Authority and has held a number of other executive management roles.
Ian has lived in Peterborough for more than 30 years. He has run businesses in the software and media sectors and has also served in various non-executive director roles and has also acted as a school governor and a trustee of a Kenyan children’s home.
Sarah is a Financial Analyst within the Environment Agency, where she has worked within a number of financial roles for a number of years. Sarah brings a wealth of experience in Continuous Improvement, event planning and customer service.
David has been influential in the growth of Peterborough since the 1970s. As Director of Marketing and Planning, David was responsible for the planning and development of Peterborough New Town. David has also served on the boards of Nene Park Trust, Minster Housing Association, Peterborough Sculpture Trust and the management committee for Peterborough Rugby Club.
Karen has lived in the Peterborough area for nearly 40 years and has worked within Peterborough City Council’s Housing Department and also as a primary school teacher. Karen led the successful campaign to have a community hydrotherapy pool in Peterborough, which culminated in the opening of the St George’s Hydrotherapy Pool, which Vivacity now runs.
Steve is City Councillor for the Eye of Thorney and Newborough Ward and is also an advisor to the Council leader with special responsibilities for culture, leisure, sport, recreation and Peterborough City Centre. Steve has had a lifelong career in the entertainment and media industries as a successful concert, event and club promoter and radio presenter.
Nigel moved to Peterborough in 1978 as part of the management team that opened Barclays Bank International in Midgate House. In 1979 he joined Thomas Cook where he remained for 20 years in a number of roles, ultimately becoming CEO.
Caroline was born and educated in Peterborough and for many years worked in radio sales locally and in London before launching her own advertising agency, Connaught Media in 1993. Caroline started The Job Show in 2013, which is now an award winning recruitment and careers event covering the UK.
June was born in the Isle of Ely and educated locally with degrees from the University of East Anglia. She has over 35 years of experience as a public sector professional as a senior civil servant in Whitehall and as an EC/EU trade delegate to the Association of South East Asian Nations.
Matthew is a director of his family business, Dalton Seeds, based in Eye. The business is the largest family owned combinable crop seed merchant in the country. Matthew holds a BA (Hons) in economics and an MBA.
Theo is a solicitor at Sloan Plumb Wood LLP in Peterborough, where he specialises in construction law, and insolvency law. Theo has lived in Peterborough since 2000.
