The Key Theatre

Sadly, the Key Theatre and box office is closed until further notice.  All updates to opening times will be posted here.

Please bear with us, we have a greatly reduced staff team whilst services are suspended.  

We have made the following arrangements regarding postponed and cancelled shows:

Where a show you had tickets for us has been postponed to a later date we will automatically move your booking to the new date.   We will contact customers once our box office re-opens.  If you are unable to attend, we will refund your booking on to a gift certificate once the box office re-opens.

Where a show you had tickets for has been cancelled, we will automatically refund your booking on to a gift certificate.  We will make this refund as soon as our box office re-opens and advise customers at this time.

Gyms & Leisure venues

As our valued customers of the Vivacity sports and leisure facilities, we wanted to update you on some behind the scenes changes to the running of these services.

Peterborough City Council has elected to keep control of the services and chosen Peterborough Limited to run the sports and leisure offering from 1st October 2020. Peterborough Limited is a company wholly owned by the Council, but set up to act in a commercial capacity, and to get the best value for the people of Peterborough. Peterborough Limited already deliver many services, such a parks and open spaces and recycling and waste collection under the Aragon branding. 

Direct Debit Gym Member:

From 1st October 2020, Vivacity Culture & Leisure will hand over the payment processor for Direct Debit payments. As the new processor, Peterborough Limited, will be responsible for all Direct Debit collections from this date onward. Peterborough Ltd (Leisure) will appear on your bank statement instead of Vivacity Culture & Leisure.  Don’t worry nothing else will be changing, and there is no action you need to take. All your payments will continue to be fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Vivacity Premier Fitness, Regional Fitness & Swimming Centre and Hampton Leisure Centre are now open.

Jack Hunt swimming pool, Bushfield and Werrington leisure centres will open in the near future (exact dates to be confirmed).

Peterborough Athletics Arena is now open for existing club bookings.

Peterborough Lido will not reopen for the 2020 summer season.

We appreciate that some of our customers will not be ready to return to the gym just yet, in this case we are happy to continue to freeze your membership until the end of December.– please advise us by completing the online form if you would like us to do this.

Museum & Heritage

Sadly, Peterborough Museum is closed. 

Vivacity and the Council are working together to open services in line with new government guidance as soon as it is safe and viable to do so.

If you have an event booking with us, we are working hard to reschedule events and contact customers. Thank you for your patience at this time.

Club Viva Childcare

Club Viva before and after school club for students of Hampton College Primary will reopen on Thursday 3rd September.  Our Club Viva team will be in touch with parents/carers directly.

We look forward to welcoming children back.

Swim Academy

Our Swim Academy classes are cancelled until further notice. 

Vivacity and the Council are working together to open services in line with new government guidance as soon as it is safe and viable to do so.

 

Following our latest update regarding the re-opening of Vivacity Premier Fitness and Regional Fitness & Swimming Centre, we regret to inform you that Swim Academy is still closed.

All Swim Academy memberships remain suspended, and no further payments will be taken until lessons restart.

If you have made a payment in March

For those who have made a swim academy payment in March, you will receive a full month free when our leisure centres reopen, and your Direct Debit will resume as normal following this free month. No payments will be taken in the interim.

If you have paid a block booking

For those who have paid upfront for 12 weeks, your swim academy membership will be extended by the period of time that our leisure centres remain closed. No payments will be taken in the interim.

We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as possible.

Libraries

Central Library is now open and operating a restricted service from 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 2pm on Saturday.  Unfortunately, Open+ (the library self-service option) will not operate during this time.

Hampton, Bretton, Orton and Werrington libraries are now open (please see libraries page below for opening times).

Vivacity and the council are working to open other libraries as soon as it is safe and viable to do so.

The mobile library service is currently unavailable, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. 

The following measures have been put in place to keep customers and staff safe:

Monitoring the number of customers allowed in the library to ensure that there is adequate space for social distancing.  A queuing system outside the building will be in place.

Customers will be asked to provide their name and number for track and trace purposes.

Hand sanitiser will be available for customers to use on entrance to and exit from the library.  It will be compulsory for users to wear a face covering whilst on the premises (these will not be provided).

Book selection will be restricted to 30 minutes for the library and 1 hour for customers wishing to use the public network (computer suite).  Seating and newspapers have been removed.

Library staff will ensure all books returned to the library are quarantined for 72 hours before being returned to the shelves. 

Anyone wishing to use the public network, can book a 1 hour slot by visiting the library or phoning 01733 864280 – all necessary cleaning and social distancing measures will be in place to keep customers safe.

During this time, library members can return their books to any open library (however, this is optional).  Fines for overdue books will be waived until all libraries are open.

Vivacity will continue running library services until mid-September when the service will transfer to the Council.

 

 

 

Lost World

Lost World is now open!  The following measures have been put in place to keep customers safe:

Play sessions are limited and should be booked online.  Each session is 90 minutes. 

Purchasing a ticket will be acceptance of our rules of play and the measures in place to keep all customers and staff safe.

Customers will not be admitted until the start of their booked session.  Please have your booking information ready.

On arrival a member of the team will check your temperature and ask you to kindly use hand sanitiser (provided).

Face coverings must be worn by adults when moving around Lost World (you may remove when at your table). 

Some soft furnishing and all loose items have been removed, including sensory equipment.

Additional cleaning will be in place between sessions, along with daily anti-bacterial fogging on all surfaces.  

The number of bookings will be restricted to ensure social distancing, please supervise youngsters to encourage them to follow our safety measures.

Lost World reserve the right to share your information with the government track and trace service should the need arise.

Reopening leisure centres

When will Vivacity leisure centres reopen?

Before you look to book, join or attend a session in any of our leisure centres, please read this information carefully. It provides you with all the information you need to know before safely returning to a Vivacity leisure centre.

Vivacity Premier Fitness, Regional Fitness & Swimming Centre and Hampton Leisure Centre are now open. (Hampton Leisure Centre is open for gym and fitness classes only. The sports hall is currently closed for school use.)

Jack Hunt, Bushfield and Werrington Leisure Centres will open in the near future, the dates are still being finalised, and we will be in touch with the information as soon as we have it.

A phased approach to returning to normal is being taken. This is to ensure that the changes we have put in place work to keep everyone safe and that we can maintain to Covid secure guidelines.

What is Vivacity doing to make the leisure centre safe?

You will notice some things are a little different, but our facilities and friendly staff are ready to provide you with the perfect space for you to enjoy a safe and pleasant return to the gym.

- We have introduced new enhanced cleaning protocols

- Hand sanitising stations are available throughout the centre

- We have implemented one-way systems and social distancing measures throughout

- Introduced bookable sessions for use of the gym, pool and exercise classes with a monitored number of people to maintain social distance

What to do when visiting to the leisure centre?

Following the issuing of Government guidelines, we are introducing new temporary measures to keep our members and staff safe.  Please adhere to the following guidelines.

- Clean your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or sanitiser.

- Wear a face covering whilst walking around our leisure facilities, you may remove it during exercise.

- Clean all equipment before and after use with disinfectant equipment provided. Dispose of wipes/ tissue in the nearest bin.

- Maintain social distancing.

- Follow directional and instructional signage and one-way systems.

- Sign in at reception.

- Should you have any additional needs and need support accessing our facilities and / or are unsure how this guidance affects your ability to access our facilities, please contact the centre before your visit.

 

Feeling Unwell

- Please do NOT visit one of our sites if:

- You are showing any symptoms of Covid-19 i.e. you have a new continuous cough OR fever OR loss of/change in smell or taste

- You are in self-isolation or in the “shielded” category.

 

Should you test positive for Covid-19 following a visit to one of our sites, please contact the NHS track and trace team.

How do I book, pay and attend a gym, swim or class exercise session?

To meet government guidelines we have revised the capacity of our leisure facilities and introduced bookable sessions for use of the gym, pool and exercise classes with a monitored number of people to maintain social distance.

- You can book and pay (free with a Vivacity gym membership) for each individual session.

- You can book a session through the Vivacity website, at reception or via the Vivacity App. Book a gym session. Book a swim session. Book a fitness class.

- Bookings can be made up to 3 days in advance. We kindly ask that individuals only book 1 class session a day to provide customers with fair access to activities. 

- If you need to cancel a booking, please do so as soon as possible. This provides time for other customers to book on. Please note refunds will not be given.

- You will be able to cancel your session by telephone or via the mobile App or website. All cancellations require a minimum 30 minutes notice prior to the class to allow time for us to rebook your space from the waiting list.

*If you fail to cancel your class and do not attend you will be blocked from booking any fitness classes for 7 days

- You should arrive no more than 5 minutes before the start of your session. If you arrive early, please wait in your car or outside the building, whilst maintaining a safe distance from other customers.

- Fitness class sizes will be smaller to maintain social distance, with cleaning scheduled to take place in studios between each session.

- Socially distant spaces have been marked out for group exercise classes.

- If you use a mat for any activity in the gym or classes then you will need to bring your own for the foreseeable future.

- Some equipment in the gym will be out of use to ensure adequate social distancing between members.

- Please help us with cleaning equipment before and after use. Cleaning materials are available in the gym and fitness studios.

- You should come to your session gym or swim ready. By that we mean come wearing your gym wear and for swimming come with your swimming costume under your clothes and bringing as little as possible in the way of extra clothing.

- Please bring your pre-filled water bottles however water fountains will be available if you wish to refill your bottle. Please use hand sanitiser before and after use.

Once your session has finished/ before starting a second:

- You will need to leave the building, rebook online and / or register yourself for the additional session by following the one-way route back through reception. This is so that we can confirm you have stayed in the building for the additional booking and to comply with Track and Trace.

Is there a new class timetable?

Yes, our temporary class timetables are available. This will be reviewed constantly with the aim to provide the best class offering to our members. Class timetable

Will changing rooms, showers and lockers be available?

Gym/ Exercise Class

- At this time we are unable to provide changing facilities, showers, or lockers while maintaining the social distancing and hygiene standards we require.

- You should come to your session gym ready. By that we mean arrive already wearing your gym clothing.

Swimming/ Aqua Class

- The changing rooms will be open for swimming and aqua class sessions only (to allow us to maintain the social distancing and hygiene standards we require).

- At this time we are unable to provide showers or lockers.

- Swimmers will be expected to keep their kit at the side of the pool during their swim. We suggest you bring a waterproof bag in which to store your belongings.

- You should come to your session swim ready. By that we mean come wearing your swimming costume under your clothes and bringing as little as possible in the way of extra clothing.

Please be assured that the use of changing facilities and lockers will be under constant review.  We thank you for your patience and cooperation at this difficult time.

Will the sauna and steam rooms be open?

No, at this time the sauna and steam rooms will remain closed.

Can I still go swimming?

At the Regional Fitness & Swimming Centre:

Children between the ages of 8-13 must be accompanied by an adult while in the pool.

There will either be lane or general swimming at different times of the day, please check the booking timetable on our website for more information.

Diving boards are not in use.

Swimming sessions are 45 minutes with a gap of 15 minutes between sessions.

At Premier Fitness:

There will be lane only and general swimming available.

Swimming sessions are 45 minutes with a gap of 15 minutes between sessions.

 

At all venues, swimming pool capacity will be monitored in line with our risk assessments.

Spectating is only allowed in exceptional circumstances. Please contact the centre for further
guidance.
