From 1857 to 1928, the museum building was the Peterborough Infirmary, the first hospital for the city. Primary sources in the museum collection and census records from 1911 have been used in planning this fully immersive experience day.
Imagine it is over 100 years ago. So instead of coming to Peterborough Museum, you have come to Peterborough Infirmary as trainee nurses! During the day the significance of this building and the pioneering work of the staff and others will be brought to life as pupils meet characters from the past and work in original spaces. Will your class pass their first day of training and receive a certificate?

Testimonials: “It was all so well organised. The fact that the staff were dressed up for role play made it so much more interesting. The children learned so much and now want to learn more.”
