It's that time of year again and we're feeling festive but wanting to keep you motivated. That's why we've launched our 12 gym challenges in December!

Pick up a challenge postcard in the gym or at reception, complete all 12 challenges during December and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win the following prizes (one prize per winner):

- Three months free gym membership up to the value of £171, depending on your chosen home venue
- £50 beauty voucher from Kállos Beauty & Spa, based in Vivacity Premier Fitness
- 30 minute sports massage at Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre, based in Vivacity Premier Fitness

The 12 challenges

Test your grip strength and hang from a pull-up bar for 60 seconds
Shoulder raise
Shoulder raise
With or without dumbbells (your choice), hold both arms out at shoulder height for 60 seconds
Plank
Plank
On your elbows, hold a plank for 60 seconds
Wall sit
Wall sit
Legs at 90 degrees, sit against a wall and hold it for 60 seconds
Sit-ups
Sit-ups
Complete 30 full sit-ups. Short rest breaks can be taken and somebody can hold your feet if it helps!
Press-ups
Press-ups
30 press-ups. Either full press-ups or on your knees. Short rest breaks can be taken. 
Bench dips
Bench dips
30 dips on a bench. Legs as straight as possible. Rest breaks can be taken if required. 
Wall balls or ball slams
Wall balls or ball slams
Choose your own ball weight for either wall balls or ball slams. Complete 30 reps with short rest breaks if needed. 
Burpees
Burpees
60 seconds of burpees. Challenge yourself to see how many chest to floor burpees you can complete in 60 seconds.

1 kilometre on the rowing machine. You set your resistance level and pace. 
Treadmill

Run or walk 1 mile on a treadmill
Bike

Complete 5 kilometres on the bike of your choice
