General purpose

To assist and support in the safe and effective operation of leisure services plant and machinery, as well as at any other locations managed by Peterborough Limited as required, ensuring optimum conditions are maintained.

To carry out planned maintenance tasks to ensure company facilities remain fit for purpose and attractive to customers and users of the facilities.

To support Property Services with in-house delivery of maintenance tasks, both reactively and as part of planned maintenance.

Permanent – 40 hours per week

  • Experience in delivering great customer service 
  • Experienced in the use of equipment and hand tools deployed in maintaining plant, equipment and building fabric 
  • Experience of maintaining plant, equipment and building fabric within an operational public building and customer focussed environment 
  • Ability to carrying out work in a manner that minimises customer disruption 
  • Ability to work in a team in a multi-use facility, and across a number of locations
  • Ability to deal with emergency maintenance situations effectively and efficiently 
  • Experience of working across multiple sites 
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills 
  • Level 2 NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in a recognised building, mechanical or electrical trade. 
  • A Pool Plant Operator qualification (Pools) or willingness and ability to gain (with support from the company) in 12 weeks
  • A First Aid at Work qualification or willingness and ability to gain (with support from the company) in 12 weeks 
  • An enhanced DBS check 
  • A full valid driving license or ability to easily get to all facilities 
  • Understand the importance of Health and Safety and its application 
  • Understand of the importance of and commitment to Equalities and Diversity and its application
  • Great Customer Service
  • Flexibility in working, including evening, weekend and Bank Holiday where cover is needed 
  • Effective interpersonal skills 
  • A good team worker 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills 
  • A positive can-do attitude
