Train to be a lifeguard
Becoming a lifeguard is a route to a fulfilling job that could lead to you saving someone's life one day. We offer all the training you need to get started. Our National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course, delivered through the Royal Lifesaving Society UK programme, provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by lifeguards at leisure facilities.
Course duration: 5 days including the assessment (Typically 9 hours per day)

Lifeguard course pre-requisites:
Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be at least 16-years-old to take their final assessment and be able to:
- Jump / dive into deep water
- Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
- Swim 100 metres continuously on their front and back in deep water
- Tread water for 30 seconds
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool
- Climb out unaided without ladder/steps where the pool design permits
