Overview
Drowning Prevention Week runs 14th – 21st June and is critical in raising awareness and encouraging the public to enjoy water safely. The Swim Team at Vivacity are proud to be part of this campaign run by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS).
Why Water Safety Matters - Children are naturally curious and often drawn to water, whether it’s a pool, beach or even a garden pond. As a parent, understanding water safety and teaching it to your children can make all the difference.
By participating in Drowning Prevention Week, you can help ensure your children are aware of the dangers and know how to stay safe.
This year we are running free Water Safety Sessions for Swim Academy members and other swimmers at Peterborough Lido during Drowning Prevention Week to try to ensure as many children as possible understand the risks around water.
Daily sessions are available to book from Monday 15th June to Friday 19th June:
- 4.00pm - 4.30pm (for Stages 1-4 or equivalent ability)
- 4.30pm - 5.00pm (for Stages 5+ or equivalent ability)
The sessions have restricted numbers and are limited to one session per child. They are bookable by emailing us – please click the button below:
