Vivacity can help you live a healthier and more active life if you have longstanding health conditions and you are aged 16 years or older.
We offer a range of weekly classes, at reduced rates, for anyone who lives a sedentary or physically inactive lifestyle consisting of less than 150 minutes of activity per week.
Step 1 – Complete 12 weeks of instructed exercise classes with additional support specific to your condition at Hampton Leisure Centre. (£3.00)
Step 2 - Attend 12 weeks of further maintenance classes on a week-by-week basis (£4.00) OR take out our reduced rate ‘Lifestyle Membership’ for three months. You can benefit from an all-inclusive gym membership, a personally tailored gym programme and FREE access to the maintenance classes and support groups.
Step 3 – Once you have completed steps 1 and 2 of the programme you will be well on your way to having made a big change in your lifestyle. We will support and encourage you to ‘self-manage’ your ongoing progress with one of our mainstream gym membership options, and you will still be able to access maintenance classes and support groups as you progress.
Increasing your physical activity can help with a wide range of illnesses and health problems. It can help reduce your chance of getting heart disease, cancer and chronic back pain, as well as obesity, hypertension and diabetes. It can also help improve your mental state in helping with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem by boosting confidence and reducing the impact of stress-related illnesses.
The following programmes are available at Hampton Leisure Centre in a private studio environment and classes are at the reduced rate of just £3.00 for Step 1 and £4.00 for Step 2 and 3.
Obesity, Diabetes and Hypertension - Every Monday at 10.45am – 11.45am
This is for you if you have a BMI of 25 or above, hypertension, diabetes type 1 or 2 or a family history of heart disease.
Stroke Rehabilitation - Every Monday at 11.00am-12.00pm
This session will be specifically focused on the specific needs of stroke survivors, this will help them to regain control and improve their quality of life.
Increasing Mobility - Every Tuesday at 10.45am – 11.45am
The increasing mobility programme is to help those with limited mobility, this could include those who have suffered injury and are post physiotherapy.
Cardiac and Respiratory - Every Wednesday at 12.30pm – 1.15pm
The cardiac respiratory programme is available to those with asthma, emphysema, coronary obstructive pulmonary disease or heart disease.
Musculoskeletal - Every Thursday at 11.00am – 12.00pm
This is for you if you have arthritis, osteo-arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or osteoporosis.
Dementia and Alzheimer’s - Every Thursday at 1.45pm – 2.45pm
This class is sensitive to those who are living with the effects of dementia or Alzheimer’s with all exercises customised to the specific needs, conditions and abilities of the individual.
Stress, Anxiety and Depression - Every Thursday at 1.45pm - 2.45pm
This class is for people living with depression, anxiety or stress-related illnesses, with all exercises customised to the specific needs, conditions and abilities of each person.
Teas and coffees are served after every session where you can relax and chat in a friendly setting and meet other people with a similar condition.
