Museum outreach: Meet Boudica
Can't come to us? We can come to you!
From £120 per class of up to 30 pupils
It is 60 AD, and the King of the Iceni tribe, Prasutagus, has died with the promise that his kingdom would be ruled jointly between his daughters and the Roman emperor. However, his will has been ignored and Prasutagus’ wife, Boudica is not happy to say the least.
Pupils will meet Boudica and will hear her account of the story and how the Roman occupation is impacting on the local community. They will be told of her plans to fight back and that she is after new recruits to the Iceni army. Pupils will handle real and replica Iron Age and Roman artefacts as Boudica describes what it is like to live in these times. At the end pupils will be asked to decide whether or not they will join her.
This session can also take place at Peterborough Museum or Flag Fen as part of a Really Roman Day or Exploring Prehistoric Life. Please contact us to discuss.
Ideal for KS2.
