Overview
Peterborough Museum runs a heritage school programme throughout the academic year with the museum collection at its heart. Can't come to us? Enquire after our outreach programme where we come to you.
Our award-winning programme spans 150 million years of local, national and international history and we work closely with you to tailor the most effective activity for your pupils.
School sessions include the following themes, periods and topics:
- Under the Jurassic Sea and the age of the dinosaur (EY & KS1)
- Evidence of Evolution (KS2+)
- Really Roman Day (KS2)
- Tudor Peterborough (KS!, KS2 & KS3)
- Crime and Punishment (KS2 & KS3)
- A Novel Look at Peterborough (KS5)
- Edith Cavell and Other Past Lives (EY & KS1)
- Victorian Medicine & Marvel (KS2)
- Medicine Through Time (KS3+)
- Story of Peterborough (KS1+)
- Toys from the Past (EY & KS1+)
- WWII: 10th May 1941 (KS2+)
We hold the Quality Badge for Learning Outside the Classroom and the Sandford Award for excellence in teaching and learning.
We welcome students with special needs and will adapt activities to meet the needs of all users.
