The Heritage Festival Schools’ Day provides your class with the opportunity to explore and experience over 3,000 years of Peterborough’s rich and diverse history with a full day programme.
Meet costumed re-enactors representing life from the Iron Age to World War II as you solve the Quest of the Magic Ring,
Create either a Victorian seal or an Iron Age bead (dependent on your timetable)
Enjoy storytelling in the beautiful surroundings of Peterborough Cathedral and
Imagine living through a past local event in 60AD – the Celtic uprising against the Romans - with a live debate with Boudica, Queen of the revolting Celtic Iceni tribe and Roman governor Gaius Suetonius Paulinus. Both of these historical characters were instrumental in this past event which had significant consequences for the local area and its people. For one day only, we are bringing these characters back to the local area as they reason their actions and try to persuade you to join their army. Whose army will you choose? You decide.
